“I wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahama, come on, pretty mama…”
I haven’t been to every place in this song, but I have been to many Caribbean islands, and I’ve found myself packing the same things for each trip. So, I’ve compiled a list of what to pack for a Caribbean vacation.
You’ll want a mix of bright pieces, breathable fabrics, neutral basics, and, of course, lots of swimsuits! When you’re packing for the Caribbean, you never need as much as you think you do, so only pack items you can mix and match.
Here’s what to pack for a Caribbean vacation!
Swimsuits
One-piece swimsuit. I am obsessed with this one-piece because it’s SO flattering on my stomach and waist!
Colorful bikini. Even if bikinis aren’t “your thing,” opt for one with a fun top (like this one from adidas) so you can wear it with shorts, a skirt, or a coverup.
Vintage-looking suit. I’m a sucker for a retro-looking suit, especially if it has a unique back or cutout.
Long-sleeve suit. This is my go-to swimwear when I’m in conservative countries and want to be more covered.
Accessories
Accessories
Sunglasses. I opt for polarizing sunglasses, and I always carry a spare in case I lose a pair.
Hat. Choose a hat that will go with every outfit, is breathable on your head, and provides UPF protection from the sun.
Tote Bag. You’ll need a bag for transporting your things to and from the pool and beach, so choose a tote that’s easy to clean and doesn’t take up much space in your suitcase.
Dry Bag. A dry bag can keep your phone and other items dry, or it can keep your wet clothes from getting everything else wet.

Kimono. I have this kimono in several colors because I love the style and fit!

Sandals. I only pack one pair of sandals, and these go with any outfit.
Sneakers. You’ll love these slip-on tennis shoes if you’re hiking or biking around an island.
Water shoes. If you’re planning adventure activities (chasing waterfalls, boating, etc.), you’ll want a pair of sturdy water shoes that protect your feet.
Camera Gear
