What To Do
On The Strip
Take a picture with the famous Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas sign (the line will be shortest in the morning and at night).
Watch the fountain show at The Bellagio, then head inside to marvel at the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens.
Do a gondola ride at The Venetian.
Ride The High Roller.
Play Topgolf (which has an on-site pool).
Ride the Big Apple Coaster.
See a show – I highly recommend an illusion or Cirque du Soleil show.
Satisfy your sweet tooth at Hershey’s Chocolate World and/or M&M’s World.
Off The Strip
Drive an expensive sports car with the Exotics Racing VIP Experience.

When To Go
Pro Tip for visiting Vegas: plan a midweek trip because room rates and show tickets are cheapest between Tuesday and Thursday.
December – February is Las Vegas’s peak travel season because of the holidays, mild weather, and sporting events. Tourist numbers and accommodation prices will be at their highest during these months, so you’ll want to book tours, flights, and accommodation in advance. It’s very windy during these months, and temperatures will be cool, especially in the mornings and evenings. So bring layers, and be prepared for outdoor pools to be closed.
March – May is a shoulder season for Vegas. Daytime temperatures will range from the 70s to 80s, but you’ll still want layers for the mornings and evenings. As long as you avoid Spring Break weeks, you can score some great accommodation and flight deals during these months, especially on weekdays.
June – August is hot (temperatures can get into the 100s), so you’ll want to do outdoor activities in the morning, evening, and night. These months are the most popular time for families to visit, so be prepared for your hotel’s pool to be jam-packed with kids. I highly recommend opting for a resort with an adults-only pool if you’re here in the summer.
September – November is a shoulder season when the crowds and prices will be significantly lower than in the summer and winter. Temperatures will be pleasant in the 80s – 60s, so bring layers.

Where To Eat
Las Vegas is one of the best foodie destinations in the country. Almost everything in the city revolves around food and drink, so you want to spend plenty of time experiencing Vegas’ food scene.
I highly recommend doing a food tour. This will let you sample your way across the city, learn about the history of the city’s cuisine, and discover the best places to eat from a local guide.
The Ultimate Las Vegas Foodie Guide
There are SO MANY incredible restaurants in Vegas, so I created the Ultimate Las Vegas Foodie Guide where I round up the best eating places in every casino on The Strip.
Many Las Vegas restaurants require reservations, so book as early as possible to get a table.
In Las Vegas, it’s legal to have an open container of alcohol outside of a restaurant. So you can take any drink to go, and you can stop at takeout windows for refills while you walk around the city.
Best Day Trips
Valley of Fire State Park. This incredible state park is just a short drive from Las Vegas. If you don’t have a car, I recommend renting one for the day or booking a guided jeep tour. The best things to do at Valley of Fire are: drive from the West to the East entrance, drive from the visitor center to White Domes, see Elephant Rock, climb at The Beehives, and hike to Fire Wave.
Hoover Dam. This architectural marvel is less than an hour’s drive from Vegas, so coming here would be more like a half-day trip. When you’re here, make sure you walk across the top of the dam and enjoy the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge walkway views.
Emerald Cave. If you want some water fun, head to Willow Beach to paddle on the Colorado River to the stunning Emerald Cave.
The Grand Canyon. This is one of the most popular day trips from Las Vegas. But I highly recommend visiting The Grand Canyon as its own trip because it’s a four-and-a-half-hour drive from Vegas. By the time you’d get to The Grand Canyon, you’d barely have any time to hike or explore before driving back. Alternatively, you could take a helicopter tour over The Grand Canyon for a unique perspective that wouldn’t take the entire day.
