the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort

On my trip to St. Simons and Georgia’s Golden Isles, I stayed at the King & Prince Beach and Golf Resort, one of my favorite hotels EVER. This historic hotel has three pools, a jacuzzi, beach access, a spa, spacious rooms, and one of the island’s best restaurants and golf courses. So here are my favorite pictures of the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort to inspire your travel plans!

Plan an Incredible Trip to St. Simons Island

The best things to do in St. Simons are renting bikes to explore the historic downtown, horseback riding on Driftwood Beach, visiting the Fort Frederica National Monument, doing a tour and tasting at Richland Rum, and taking a cruise on the Emerald Princess Casino.

    Frequently Asked Questions
    • Who owns the King and Prince?

The King & Prince Beach & Golf Resort is privately owned by Katherine Ladson – fondly known as Ms. Kat, who began her career working in the resort’s laundry department.

St. Simons is the heart and soul of Georgia’s Golden Isles. This quaint, picturesque island is one of my favorite getaways in the Southeast U.S. It’s perfect for girls, mother-daughter, or romantic trips. So you absolutely need to visit and stay at the King & Prince!

    • Who designed King and Prince Golf Course?

Architect Joe Lee designed the King and Prince Golf Course, with its four signature salt marsh island holes accessed by 800-feet of elevated cart bridges.

In addition to golfing, the best things to do in St. Simons are:

      1. Take a horseback ride on Driftwood Beach.

      2. Visit the Fort Frederica National Monument.

      3. Kayak with Ocean Motion Surf Co.

      4. Lounge on one of the white sandy beaches.

      5. Hike at Cannon’s Point Reserve.

      6. Do a tour and tasting at Richland Rum.

      7. Take a cruise on the Emerald Princess Casino.

      8. Do a food tour.

    • How much does it cost to play golf at Sea Island?

The Sea Island golf green fees are $250 for 18-holes and $135 for 9 holes after 4 p.m.

Georgia’s Golden Isles are a year-round destination, but Spring and Fall are the best seasons to visit. March – May and September – November have cool breezes and warm temperatures in the 60s at night and the 70s and 80s in the day without the humidity of the summer months. These are the shoulder seasons, so accommodation prices and tourist numbers won’t be at their highest.

Summer is hot and muggy with temperatures in the 90s, and the humidity will make it feel much hotter. Mosquitos are out in full force during these months, so make sure you always have bug spray with you. Afternoon rain showers are also common. June – August is the peak travel season for the Golden Isles, so everything will be at its most expensive and most crowded. The public beaches will fill up by mid-morning, many restaurants will require reservations, and you’ll need to book tours ahead of time.

Winter is the offseason, but the island’s mild temperatures mean this is still a great time to visit. You can get some great hotel deals in December (excluding the Christmas – New Year holiday week), January, and February. Nighttime temperatures will be in the mid-40s, and daytime temperatures should stay in the 60s. Some businesses and tour companies are closed for the winter season, but most places will still be open.
